Refined community mall in the centre of Bangkok city’s cultural origin
The site for Tha Maharaj is on the bank of the Chao Praya river on Maharaj Road in an area famous for its culture and heritage. The close proximity to the palace and Siriraj Hospital meant sensitivity and patience was key during the design and build stage.
The visitors in the area can be categorised into 3 groups, students/employees, tourists and Thais who love the atmosphere near the river. These groups were less attracted to the traditional, large flashy retail mall. For this reason, Contour designed a refined community mall on the prestigious site with a concept that maintains the culture and art in the area and adds a modern high-end, culinary element. Contour selected the attractive blend of boutique tenants for Tha Maharaj which will be sure to draw in the crowds to this historic area.
