UD Town

Massive open-air mall and event space that has created a new centre of Udon Thani

Following the research by Contour, it was established that the potential customers in the city were looking for a large mall where they had wide range of choices, from simple to more extravagant, depending on the situation.  They wanted to choose between an informal simple meal and a more formal experience.  In addition to this, the city lacked a centre for events like concerts or celebrations like New Year, Songkran and Chinese New Year.

Before the development of UD Town, the city had a different layout.  The creation of UD Town has created a new city centre hub.  Due to the wide variety of tenants at UD Town, the destination draws in huge number of customers every day from the surrounding area and as far afield as Laos.  On the average day, they welcome around 7,000 cars. On the days UD Town hosts one of its many events, this figure can increase to over 10,000 cars.

UD Town was the first open-air mall outside of Bangkok and has started a trend in other cities.
